Let the Good Times Roll...or Sleep

Well, things here are starting to fall into a routine. The girls are adjusting well and seem to be content for the most part. The nights are not too bad as we tend to take them in shifts. Karen will nurse both girls around 8pm and then go to bed for some precious sleep she misses through the night. From 8pm to 11:00pm or midnight, Joe will watch the girls (and try hard to play Xbox!!) and do his best to meet their needs, all without any lactating body parts. Karen then has the most grueling shift from midnight to 8am, feeding the girls as needed and attempting to get 1-2hrs sleep here and there. At 8am, Grandma takes over and watches them while Karen gets a few more well deserved hours of sleep, free from interruptions. The girls usually do well at night, giving Karen a couple 2-3 hour blocks, but sometimes it just seems that as soon as one falls asleep, the other wakes up....making it a very long night. Sometimes we have a completely sleepless night!! As you'll notice in the picture of Karen below. Overall, they are doing well and we are looking forward to an even better routine...and more sleep.

Joe just recently got back from Chicago and Phoenix, after spending a day with two pharmacy schools that invited him for an interview. Chicago turned out to not really be an "interview", but was more of an orientation and writing essay to make sure he was well informed about the school if chosen to go school there. Phoenix turned out to be an actual interview, and he feels the professors he talked to really liked him. At this point, both schools seem really promising. He should find out within a month if he is accepted to either school. Joe has his last interview in Washington D.C. this week and is not really looking forward to it. The school is on probation from their accreditation.....in simple terms, they are not up to standard with current pharmacy school requirements. The reasons are not disclosed about why they are on probation, but Joe will find out while he is there. Joe was going to cancel his appointment after he found this out, but the airline ticket was non-refundable, so he figures he might as well go instead of wasting it. It has been hard to be away during this tough time, but we have had lots of help and support to make it a lot easier. Thankfully, it will be over after this week.

That pretty much sums up our last week. We will try to get more pictures up as soon as we can, but you would be amazed how hard it is to type with two babies in your arms. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, and would appreciate a tiny bit more prayers as these schools determine if Joe is accepted. Here are some photos for you to enjoy.
