Well the wait is finally over. It is my pleasure to welcome into this world, Kaylee Joy and Renee Kathleen. Unfortunately, Karen woke up at 5 A.M. and couldn't go back to sleep. I think the excitement...inability to get comfortable...contractions...and a little bit of fear kept her up. Karen and I then went into the doctor's office at 8 A.M. and after examination, she was dilated to 5 1/2 cm. Since they weren't terribly busy (and because Karen is a VIP there for being an employee), the doctor said "Do you want to have your babies today?" and Karen said quickly "YES!!" Karen and I then walked next door to the hospital where she was greeted with open arms. We were given a great room and a great nurse. Karen even had a friend from work that came in to help her with everything from adjusting pillows to videotaping the delivery for us. We had so much support from friends and family, we couldn't have done it without them. Karen had her epidural around 10 A.M and then the doctor came and broke her water at 10:30. She progressed a little slow then, but around 12:30 she was given Pitocin since the contractions weren't quite strong enough. Within an hour, we were in the O.R. ready for delivery. Karen was unbelievable and did a total of about 6-8 pushes to get both babies out. Kaylee came first and in the process of moving down, made Renee flip to the breech position again. Thanks to our wonderful doctor, Renee was born breech without a C-Section needed and no complications. Since she was breech, this put a lot of pressure on Karen, but she pulled through like a star. Through blood, sweat, and a lot of tears..we got to hold our new baby girls for the first time. It is a moment that will be with us forever. Kaylee weighed 5 lbs 14oz and Renee weighed 6 lbs 1oz. I can't remember their exact lengths, but I will let you all know soon. Here are some pictures that I took today. We can't tell them apart quite yet unless we look at their arm bracelets so I'm not sure who is who in the pictures. I will be sure to post some new pictures very soon! It is past midnight now, so daddy is quite tired. Enjoy these for now and we would love to hear from all of you whether or not you can notice any differences. These pictures aren't the greatest, but they do really look similar when face to face. The tests should come back tomorrow officially letting us know if they are identical or fraternal. We will keep you all updated once we hear the results. We love you all and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Wow! It is truly a miracle every time, isn't it? The girls are adorable and I'm sure they'll be darling decked out in all their new "girlie garments". A lot of prayers have been answered.

First off, congratulations!!
Now, for a few corrections:
* Kaylee weighs in at 5 lbs, 14 oz.
* Renee is not in awe that her daddy is so bald, but that her daddy is so goofy looking.
* Third, they do look different. In the Karen picture, Kaylee is the one visible (on Karen's left.) (Hint: the nose is different.)
I can definately tell Joyce is in town. Her lack of brain cells must be wearing off on you.
Because it can't be the late night, excitement and anxiety of having two new babies...

Congratulations!!! We are so happy for you and glad they have arrived healthy!! Yes, They do look REALLY similar. Wonder what the test will say??? As soon as we are all over our colds we will come see those beautiful girls!

Congratulations on the healthy birth of both those girls! I am so sad that I couldn't be there for you, Karen, but I am thinkful that everything went well.
